ABORT SCENE is Digital rationalhardcore & electronic paleolibertarian punk taking over where The Yellow Day Brigade left off, and providing 38 explicit bursts of liberty-driven hardcore to define the real alternative to the leftist/statist corruption of punk & mainstream culture. Lyrically, ABORT SCENE strives to be an antidote to the effects of MDC, Bad Religion, Rage Against The Machine, and other artists spewing leftist views and popularizing criminal agendas. Especially when combined with The Yellow Day Brigade's catalog, ABORT SCENE has a strong bid for the title of most prolific explicitly paleolibertarian music artist. Currently serving as the flagship artist of PhoenixHeart Records.

The Yellow Day Brigade (a.k.a. “The YDB”, 2004-2007) seeks to set the "punks" straight with its brand of rationalhardcore, a genre and movement it essentially founded. A revival of that old-school combination of jackhammer beats and thrashy riffs recalling Bad Brains and Minor Threat presents a shock to the wussy emo-pop-punk and extra-heavy metalcore fans alike. As if a jolt of early eighties hardcore is not enough, The YDB's version also fuses mechanical beats and acid-bath guitar processing for an industrial edge heavily influenced by Big Black. The abrasive sound waves aside, consider the amazement of some punk/hardcore enthusiasts when they discover The Yellow Day Brigade is staunchly against Leftist politics. In creating the rationalhardcore movement, The YDB seeks to create hardcore/punk music and culture steeped in anarcho-capitalist/paleo-libertarian discipline - And it will be done with or without the "mainstream hardcore/punk" empire. After all, isn't secession central to real hardcore/punk? The YDB's 'Stop Kidding Yourself' & 'Taxation is Theft' albums are combined for a total of 39 songs on one audio cd. That's almost 80 minutes of industrialized rationalhardcore thrash and jams. These two albums were meant to be together, and they are front and center in the rationalhardcore movement. A must for libertarians and fans of oldschool hardcore like Bad Brains & Minor Threat!

NEW WEBSITE at www.PhoenixHeartRecords.com

The website has been receiving some major improvements over the past month or so. We have a few more website features on the way, so be sure to keep checking back!

We are very excited to introduce the first incarnation of our various profiles of artists. There are profiles of both Libertarian/Conservative artists and also artists that we consider relevant. (We know we missed some, and there is a list of those we need to add...) These profiles will continue to develop with original review content, but we think you will find them to be very useful as they already contain a wealth of info on most listed bands. This will prove to be a great resource for checking out new (and old) music.

Rationalhardcore Times is now right on the main page at www.PhoenixHeartRecords.com, and the rationalhardcore.blogspot.com site will continue as Rationalhardcore Times' blog.

The apolitical punk jam band Yish is currently in hiatus. Some unreleased material is forthcoming. Exactly how much is yet to be determined. Exactly when is even foggier, but we think it will be good when we have decided!

We will have more updates in the near future. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out our in-house artists and the many profiles of Libertarian/Conservative artists. And of course, we would love it if you bought some records.

More artist updates are forthcoming. Thank you for your patience!

New ABORT SCENE album by 2008...

A MESSAGE FROM ABORT SCENE:

Hey Conservative Punks and rationalhardcore enthusiasts, I'm happy to announce that the latest songs from ABORT SCENE are recorded and mixed. This album has been completed despite technical difficulties at every point along the way, and the final sound ranges from "mediocre live bootleg" to "decent home studio". Most of my favorites came out pretty good, though, and I think it is musically a hybrid of later Germs and later Clash with liberty-focused Guttermouth/Vandals/Fear/Germs - styled lyrics, a dash of hip-hop, and the YDB - meets - raincloud zero instrumentation you have come to love over the past year or so...

...Speaking of raincloud zero, those of you who have followed PhoenixHeart Records from early on may be aware that it is the electronic music project started back in 1999... There was the 'Static is Pretty' album released on PhoenixHeart in 2003, then a teaser ep called 'Drive' in early '04, but nothing since then. I've obviously been busy programming other music in the meantime. I think you Conservative Punks deserve to dance and enjoy yourselves, so I have placed 5 techno/industrial songs in the vein of raincloud zero at the end of the new ABORT SCENE album. That's 12 lyrical tracks + 5 wordless dancers = 17 total trax. More details on the songs coming soon. I see even more of both types in the near future, as well as some other genres...
